Parisian Nights!

Hi Guys,

We this is my last instalment in my Paris Fashion Week adventure. And I thought I would end on a look from one of my nights out.
In a city like Paris anything goes and the style can go from a chic white shirt and jeans to a real out and out glamour dress, which I love. It really is what makes it the style capital of the world!

Before arrived I think I may have watched Midnight in Paris one too many times and was really inspired by the gorgeous flapper dresses that Marion Cotillard wore in the film, which lead me to style up this look
Dress- Forever 21, Necklace- Miss Selfridge
Shoes-New Look, Faux Fur Coat- Vintage

I love this dress, it is such a statement piece in my wardrobe, I bought it for a friends wedding Greece last summer and it worked just as well then in the blazing heat.
The 2 layers are really flattering and it does not cling to any part of you which was great, considering I was out having a 6 course French tasting menu!

And if you are going to do a style then go for it the whole hog, so I wore my long beads to compliment the dress, but the real hero of the look is the faux fur coat.
This coat is a Vintage Munmy Logan, she bought it back in the 70's  and she always looked (and looks) amazing in it, so I love that it reminds me of her. Plus it is just a must have winter piece, and I really liked the effect with my dress.

Well, it feels quite sad to be drawing a line on my Paris posts, it was such an amazing trip and just confirmed how much I love the city. I could seriously live in Paris it has everything I want in a place and for me has a sort of magic to it. I hope you like my look and have enjoyed reading about my travels.

Merci Paris- It was C'est Magnifique!

Happy Wednesday!

Back to Paris!

Hey Guys,

As you know I recently was over in Paris for Fashion week and even though I am now back and I still have quite a few outfits I would love to share with you that I put together when I was away.

Today's look is my gorgeous dreamy Topshop skirt that I am literally a bit obsessed with, it is my "Carrie" skirt, one that is different from everyone else in my wardrobe. When I walked past it in the shop I did that thing when you don't even look at the price tag you just pick it up and run to the changing room! (Every now and again you need to just treat yourself people)
It was perfect for an amazing meal and cocktails at Le Cinq restaurant in The Four Season's Hotel.

Skirt-Topshop, Vest-Newlook
Necklace- Primark, Heels- Newlook
Handbag- Primark

I decided to team the skirt with one of my favourite Autumn colours, burgundy and to be honest I loved it against the white. But the top half of my look is all about my necklace, which is one of Primark's exclusive pieces, it was only £8 but I can guarantee it will be a staple of my Autumn Winter wardrobe. For me the bigger the necklace the better!
I loved this look, almost as much as I love Paris and writing this post and going through the pictures again is making me so sad to be back.

I was so lucky to go to the Nicolas Kirkwood SS14 collection while I was The Four Season's and there was also a Private Elie Sabb collection on display in the Hotel which was absolutely stunning!

I hope you like the look, and I hope you all have a nice weekends planned? I am heading up to Scotland to visit my Grandparents and I can't wait to see them.
Stay tuned for my Paris by night post next!

Happy Friday!

Vogue Fashion Night Out #Manchester

Hi Guys!

I am so excited to write this post, sharing with you my night at Vogue's Fashion Night Out, which this year moved up north and came to Manchester!  (You will have to bear with me this will be a long post!)
The event is now firmly locked in every Fashionista calendar but this year the bold decision was made to move it out of the Capital and (I am my be biased) but it was a great decision!

So, last Thursday Manchester City center was invaded by all things Fashion, with events happening all over The Arndale Center, Market Street, higher end Spinningfields and the big department stores like Selfridges and House of Fraser.
What is so great about the evening is that everyone could get involved, all the shops were holding promotions and had DJ's blasting out tunes, there was such an amazing buzz around the city!

This Year's T Shirt

However, for me the evening was extra special as I was very kindly invited to some wonderful events, and got to meet some real Fashion icons, which was so exciting.

My first stop of the night was Topshop who were hosting Kate Phelan, the Creative Director of Topshop and Fashion Director of British Vogue for a Fashion Q and A session were Kate picked out her favourite pieces from Topshops gorgeous AW13 collection and explained how she would style them, plus gave some insights into her fashion inspirations and creative work.

This was a fantasic session, Kate is such a key player in British Fashion and yet she was so friednly and spoke with ease to all of us. It was a real honour to have some time to speak personally with her and get her insights on Fashion Bloggers and the Manchester Fashion scene.
Me and Kate!

As is this was not exciting enough, Topshop also approached me and very kindly offered to style me for the whole event which I was beyond excited about. You all know how much of a Topshop addict I am, so to get my hands on the new season collection was amazing!

My styling experience started with Jo, Topshop's wonderful Personal shopper, we discussed my style and what pieces I was most coveting this season and then hit the shop floor to pick out items to build outfits with. It is fair to say I was like a kid in a candy store and could have taken the whole shop! But, we narrowed it down to about 10-15 pieces that Jo then out together into about 5 different looks and picked out accessories and shoes etc for each one.

After a lot of trying on, we all decided on my look (Which I loved) and it was the perfect mix of smart /casual which suited the evening, and included my afvourite piece in the whole store the yellow faux fur gilet! Do you like the outfit?
My Look for the night!

I can not speak  highly enough (and Thank) of the fabulous Team at Topshop who looked after me and Katie, we had a great time and if you have never had a personal shopper experience in the store, you need to!

After our time in Topshop it was off down Market Street, to the Boohoo Bus, which was full of exclusive new Party Season products, and then next stop Flannels down the Avenue in Spinningfields to go to the Matthew Williamson event, showcasing his new collection.
I was very lucky to meet the man himself and was very impressed with his Manchester roots, turning on a very strong Manc accent at the flick of a switch!
Matthew has always been very proud of his Manchester heritage, so for him to be part of the event was really special and his collection is fab.
Me and Matthew!

After Flannels it was on to the last event of the evening at Emporio Armani, where the fizz and canapes were flowing as well as amazing tunes. The party was packed with Fashion elite and all of my fellow Manchester Fashion Week #MCRFW ladies which was great!

Katie- taking in the fashion and fizz!

Me, Lola and Fikki from Past Time Bliss fellow #MCRFW ladies!

All in all it was a fantastic night and firmly put Manchester on the Fashion map and also highlighted the importance of the Northern fashion scene and the uniqueness it has compared to the rest of the country.
I hope you enjoyed this (long) post and if you came down to the evening you had a great time, and all I can end it with is roll on next year!

Happy Tuesday!

Paris Day 3!

Hi Guys,

Here is my 3rd post from my week in Paris! And this look was a lot more casual for a day of exploring the beautiful City, we walked for miles from the Eiffel Tower to the Sacre-Couer, so it needed to be comfy and stylish too! (cos lets be honest ladies, we can't do heels all the time!!)
I also heading to the stunning Grand Palais for the Carven Show which was amazing, so still keeping up with my Fashion needs too!

T Shirt- H&M, PU Trousers- Primark, Scarf- Missguided
Loafers- New Look, Sunglasses-ASOS
Bag-Primark

Before I went to Paris I knew I wanted a pair of PU/leather trousers, they are the perfect for styling up a casual look without turning to jeans and I love the effect you get when you team them with something really simple like a white t shirt, but also great with a pair of killer heels and a dressier top too. River Island, Missguided, Zara and Glamorous all have great versions as well as these Primark beauts, so whatever your price tag you can get your hands on a pair.

This over sized H&M top is a new favourite of mine, it is not fitted at all it is really loose, but that is exactly what I wanted, as it sits well with the tight trouser. And off course as I mentioned in my last post, anything tartan right now I can get my hands on I do, so this scarf will probs not be off my neck all winter!
Are you loving Tartan too, Come join me?

Here are just a few more of pics of some of my fav locations across the city, but stay tuned I will be dedicating a whole post to the city itself later this week, so don't miss it.

Outside the Carven Show, calm before the fashion storm of press, models and editors arrived!

It was a beautiful display, check out the full collection Here

I hope you liked my look and and enjoying my Paris series, I literally am in love with the place!

Happy Monday!

Paris Day 2!

Hi Guys

This is my second instalment in my Paris Fashion week adventure! These photo's were taken at the Palais de Tokyo, the media hub for the whole Fashion week.
A bit like Somerset House if you have been to London Fashion week, the place was a buzz with Editors, Journalists, bloggers and interns all taking 5 mins off to get some food our write up the last show they had seen!

Dress- Glamourous, Cutout Boots- Newlook,
Slouchy Cardigan Primark
Necklace- Forever 21, Sunglasses- ASOS

I decided to wear my beloved Glamourous plaid dress, which I last styled up in a much more summery style in August. It is going to be on of my hero pieces for this Autumn/ Winter and I love that fact that it can be dressed up with heels for a night out or made a bit more gruungy like this with my cut outs.
If  I could advice 1 fashion purchase this season a Tartan dress or skirt would be it!

As the weather was so amazing too, I did not need a coat, so went with another winter staple my over sized slouchy cardigan, which added to the gunge/90's look fine, not to mention being the comfiest thing ever!!
Overall it as a good look to mooch about the beuatiful city which I love so much, I am loving every second and just do not want to leave, it is hectic and exciting, but so much fun and it has been fab to discover new parts of the City I have never been before too.

I hope you like the look, and I would love to know what tartan plaid peices you have been buying too, as I am always on the look out for more!

Off course I had to go to Laudree for Macarons! #parismusthave

Happy Saturday!
