The Wedding Guest Look!

Hi Guys,
Today's post is the outfit I put together to wear to the wedding I went to at the weekend. The weather was gorgeous, so that helped make the day go really well and also worked in with my choice of outfit!

Dress- Primark (Worn as a top) Skirt- Glamorous
Clutch- Miss Selfridges, Heels- Newlook
Bracelets- H&M and Primark, Earrings- Topshop
Nails-OPI Suzi's Hungary Again

As you will know from my posts last week, I was really struggling with what to wear to this wedding, as I did not want to get anything new and my reason was 2 fold.
1) I have a lot going on over the next couple of months and it would have felt like a real indulgence to go and buy a complete new look.
2) I wanted to challenge myself to dig through the depths of my wardrobe and find something to style up, as I do have so many pieces that are worn once or twice and never used again, which is something I am trying to remedy.

So off into my cupboards I went and found this graphic print body con dress that is literally years old. I got it to wear out on my Birthday 2 years ago and I think I think I have worn it once since. I really like the Peter Pilotto style print and love the pinks, black and turquoise colours together, and I thought it would be quite different for a wedding. However, it is quite a short dress and is very tight, so I did not think that it would be quite right for a wedding as really you need to be a bit more tailored and classy, it is not a big night out, it is a wedding after all!
So that is when I thought about wearing the dress as a top, and folding up the bottom of the dress. I initially thought a black skirt would look good with this print, but when I was going through my skirts I cam across my white peplum Glamourous skirt that I wore to London Fashion week (post here). I am slightly obsessed with white anyway, but I really loved the way it sat with the dress and the peplum style was perfect for making my silhouette more wedding appropriate.

It was such a comfy outfit and I got lots of compliments on it, wish just made me feel so much better that I had not ran out and spend £60-70 on a new dress. I would defo recommend a good wardrobe raid the next time you have a big event to go too, as I bet you will come up with something you would never have thought.
As for accessories, I kept it really simple and did not even put a flower in my hair, as it just did not go with the print of the dress.
What do you think, do you like my look? Are you a closet raider too?

I hope you all had lovely Bank Holiday weekends? It just feels like it flew by now, never mind it is only a 4 day week and I am going on holiday in 2 weeks so am in full holiday fashion mode now!
Will also be posting my Summer Fashion Essentials video tomorrow,on my You Tube Channel so be sure to stay tuned.

Happy Tuesday!

The Summer Midi Skirt!

Hi Guys,

Happy Bank Holiday, what a difference it makes when the sun shines! Today's outfit is possibly one of the comfiest outfits have worn in ages, while still being stylish, so pretty perfect for a sunny Saturday.
Top- Topshop, Midi Skirt- Topshop, Necklace- Newlook
Bag- H&M, Bracelets- Newlook & Topshop, Sandals- Primark
Sunglasses- ASOS

As you will have seen from some of my recent posts I am loving the midi style, I have both skirts and dresses, but I think out of my collection my favourite is this bright red/orange Topshop one. It is has soo much elastic in it, so it holds it shape all day and does not go baggy or loose anywhere which is what you want in a midi skirt, I think I will probs go back and buy a couple more in different colours, as I love it so much.
What I love most about it is that it can be styled up or down which makes it a really versatile wardrobe essential. Today was all about casual styling, we went for a walk and meet some friends in the park in the afternoon and then wandered on to have some cocktails in the sun, so I did not want to be over dressed, but at the same time not too dressed down.

I really like the slouchy feel to the look with the T shirt, which is so old I can't even remember when I got it, but it is always in my closet rotation, do you have tops like that?

I hope you have been out enjoying the sun today too? I think I got myself far too excited, I am definitely one of those people who's mood is effected by the weather I am sorry to admit, plus that fact that we have one extra day off too helps!
We are off to a wedding tomorrow, so I am still in prep for that, tonight will be painting nails, ironing and fake tanning! I will post my look on here too so you can let me know what you think of my look, as it has been quite thrown together for my standards.
Hope you like today's look and you enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Happy Saturday!

More Neon...!

Hi Guys,

Today's look is another current favourite of mine. I think it is fair to say I have gone a bit neon crazy recently,  I just can't stop buying and wearing it and this new H&M jumper has firmly routed itself in my Summer Wardrobe!
Jumper- H&M, Dress- Missguided, Bag- H&M
Necklace- Primark, Sandals- H&M

I am really liking the midi skirt, it is really easy to wear and perfect for this in between weather we are having at the moment, and this grey Misguided dress is super comfy and it looked great against the neon pink.
I love H&M knits this season, they are amazing colours and I just loved the cut out detail on this pink one, I am a bit of a sucker for detailing!
I wore this to work, and then out for drinks after and it was a good day to night look.

What is so versatile about a midi dress is as you can layer it up and create different looks with it, which I have been doing a lot recently, and I think it looks especially good with my new sandals that I am literally in love with!! They are the perfect Summer sandal, they have a chunky heel which is great for everyday wear plus they have a shoe boot feel to them too which I really like, so they are summery without being too summery if that makes any sense?! Anyway they were only £24.99 which makes them even more fab.

I hope you are all having a good week so far? I am having costume dramas about what to wear to a wedding on Sunday and I just can not decide what style to go for- So I better get back to raiding my wardrobe, I hope you like the look!!

Happy Tuesday!

3 is the Magic Number!

Hi Guys,

Today's look is one of my personal favourites at the moment and one I have been loving wearing, and it features 3 of my recent purchases that I am soo happy with!
Crop Top- Topshop, Trousers- Primark, Bag- Marisota
Shoes- H&M, Necklace- Newlook, Bracelets- Newlook
Nails- Gelly Hi Shine- Blood Orange

The 3 new loves in my fashion life are my Topshop crop top, my bright neon satchel and my black H&M summer sandals. To be honest I have been trying to wear them all together as much as I can, I am like that when I love something I just wear it and wear it until I get a burn out from it, do you do that too?

The biggest surprise to me has been the crop top, as I was really not sure I would embrace the trend, as getting my midriff out did not sound the best, but in fact it is not like that at all. As if you wear a skirt or trousers that come up high over the hips and lower stomach, it actually is really easy to wear and shows off the slimmest part of your body. So my leopard print pj style trousers are perfect for this as they are so slouchy and sit really high, I am a classic pear shape, I am bigger on the bottom part of my body so this is becoming a go to trend for me now, and if you are a similar body shape, I would recommend trying it out. Topshop do have some great versions, some dressy and some more casual.

The neon satchel needs no introduction, it has been all over the fashion press this season and I have been waiting for this for ages and am now soo happy I have it in my bag collection. It is the perfect stand out piece to any outfit and literally the photo's do not do it justice it is very bright! I know it will be appearing on here a lot, so apologies for that.
All and all this sums up my style as the moment ans was really happy with the look.

I can't believe it is Monday tomorrow, where do the weekends go? I hope you have had a great time, I have has a fairly chilled one, and had a mini Eurovision party last night which was hilarious, plus catching up on blog things. Off now to try out my new Barry M nail art pen, will Instagram the results, so be sure to check it out.

Happy Sunday!

Glamorous and STYLetc Girls Night Out!

Hi Guys,

Today's post is my write up of the Glamorous Blog party last week to give us lucky bloggers (cue the big group shot) a chance to take a sneak peek at their AW13 collection, and omg it was A.maz.ing!

I always look forward to going to a blog event, but I will not lie there are some I get more excited about than others and when the Glamorous invite came through I knew I would be there will bells on. I am a big Glamorous fan and own a lot of their pieces already, so I was very eager to see their new Autumn collection, as I know I will be shopping from it, come the colder months, and  this collection did no disappoint.

I must say it has been a while since a rack of clothes got me this excited, I always love looking through fashion rails, but this was something else, every single piece was a stand out wearable item that I felt I absolutely needed in my wardrobe and was very much my style. Which is quite rare to find a brand or clothing company that you really resonate with in a big way, but Glamorous just seems to be on the same styling wave length as me!

The rail was full of monochromes, leathers, and some really bold patterns.
This was just one of the amazing coats, that I was lusting after, and they all are a really affordable price.
One of my personal favourites of the night was this graphic print play suit.
It was a great event held at Manchester hotspot Sakura, and we were treated to Fizz, yummy sushi and hair styling from Too Funky Hair plus makeovers and nail colours  from Seen on Screen and it was a fab opportunity to catch up with from fellow bloggers for a bit of a gossip!
Me and the the lovely Ashleigh from Pretty Girl Rich

As while as getting over excited about the AW13 collection, we were also able to take look through the current Spring/Summer range which was bold bright and neon and prefect if you are planning a big holiday in the sun or just want to stick too fingers up to the rubbish weather here and go for it!

All in all it was a fab night and I left very excited about the prospect of planning my winter wish list.

If you have not checked out Glamorous before, you really should. But enough of my girl crush, I and sure like me you are looking forward to the weekend? I am heading out with the girls from work tomorrow night, which will now doubt get messy, so will be using Saturday to catch up on blog stuff and film and new video I have been meaning to for a while.
Sorry if this has been a bit photo heavy, but I wanted you to see as many products as poss, hope you like them and enjoy your Friday night plans if you have nice ones!

Happy Thursday!

Mints and Monochrome

Hi Guys,

Today's outfit was on I posted on my Instagram from the Bank Holiday weekend, when the weather was gorgeous and sunny. We were having a lazy afternoon,  gone out for a walk and stopped of for a coffee, and then some Tapas, so my look was just quite a relaxed style.
Jacket- Select, Crop Top-Topshop, Trousers-H&M
Hat- H&M, Bag- Primark, Shoes- New Look, Necklace- Primark
Bracelet- Topshop, Nails- Barry M Gelly High Sine- Greenberry

I am always drawn to brighter colours when it is sunny, so it was a bit of a no brainer, putting my green trousers on. These are my favourite pair of coloured bottoms from last summer, I literally lived in them, so it is nice to dig them out once more.
H&M Spring/Summer trousers are soo good, they are always priced between £9.99-£20 and they are a great quality, with lots of different prints and colours. I have lots of different pairs, I don't think I realised until I cleared out my cupboard how many I have, but they wash well, and the fit is good, so I guess it makes sense to buy what you know works right?

I must admit, I am really starting to get into the crop top trend, I did not think I would but I am loving it with skater skirts and PJ style trousers at the mo. I really wanted to wear it with this outfit too, but it was just a little too cold, so I popped a black vest underneath and it worked well.
I really like the Mint and Monochrome colours together and will definitely be checking my summer wardrobe to see if I can find some other combo's in the same colours as I think it is perfect for the sun.

Well, I hope you have all had nice weekends? I posted my April Favourites on my You Tube channel, on Saturday if you have not checked it out I would love you to come and let me know what you think of the products and fashion pieces I have been loving this month.
Got quite a busy week on the blog planned, so be sure to stay tuned!

Happy Monday!

Get the Label Urban Blog Party!

Hi Guys,

Today's post is my write up the Get the Label  blog party I went to last week. It was a chance to check out their latest collections of fashion and accessories, while meeting up with some fellow bloggers, the Get the Label Team and have a glass of fizz!

I was really impressed with the shoes and Handbags on display, there was s great selection of heels, flats and Nike and Adidas trainers. And I am a sucker for a coloured Handbag and their was some gorgeous Lipsy totes and satchels to feast our eyes on.

It was a really great event and what I was most impressed with was the wide variety of pieces for all occasions, dresses, jeans and some really lovely knitwear, which I was pleasantly surprised with. Plus we got to record a Blogger Brag video telling people about our blogs and why you should check us out- which was very funny trying to film with a straight face! I know I record for my You tube channel, but that's different, that's just me, not a film crew! The finished video's are not out yet, but I will be sure to let you know when they are.

Get the Label is not just one collection, it has lots of different designers and fashion brands which make up the site, for Women, Men and Children.
The best bit of the night was the lovely people at Get the Label giving us 3 tags to put on the top 3 items that caught our eye, which I can't wait to show you in some up and coming outfit posts, they are gorgeous!

Well, I am very happy it is the weekend. I know it was only 4 days, but this week has felt long! Looking forward to having a fairly chilled out weekend compared to last weeks festivities and catch up on some blog stuff. Hope you like the post and I hope you all have lovely plans!

Happy Friday!
