Nail Glitter Tutorial!

Hi Guys!

As you know I am a bit of a nail polish addict, I wear something on my nails everyday and think it is the best way to finish a look or even perk up an outfit. This post is a nail art tutorial on a look I have been wearing recently.

I have been loving nude nails in January, I think it is some sort of backlash to all the vampy reds and blacks I was wearing before Christmas. In particular a gorgeous taupe colour from Essie called Master Plan, which I had worn for nearly 2 weeks none stop! Which is a record for me as I get bored quickly with my nail colour.

I must confess to not being the most professional nail polish applier, sometimes I wonder if it has been me or a 5 year old who has been painting it on. Having said that I do love playing around with different nail art styles and I normally find that the easier it is to do, the more I like it!

The look I am showing you in this post is using nail glitter to create a sparkling french manicure and I really like it against the nude base. It is so easy to do, and I hope you like it!

Tools you need:

The How to Video!

Well, I hope you like the video guys and I would love to know if you try out the look and how it turns out, I don't do these type of post very often but I always like to try something new. Also you can try this with loads of different colours, this was just my suggestion, but it up to you, I just really like this style for Spring.

Hope you are having a good week and have got nice plans for this weekend!

Happy Thursday!

Print, Trouser, Action!

Jacket- Miss Rebell, Trousers- Primark, T Shirt- H&M
Shoes- Viva La Diva, Clutch- Miss Selfridge, Necklace- Primark
Hat- H&M, Nails- Essie Master Plan

Hi Lovelies!

As all of you long term followers will know, I LOVE print trousers. Well, actually that is too specific, I just love all forms of trousers, am I alone in this fetish?
I did a little fashion dance when I saw all the print trousers and casual tailoring rolling down the catwalk last September, as it is such an easy, accessible and comfy trend to wear. And what I love is that can can be adapted to suit your body shape, because of my big old hips and bum I need to have a large turn up at the bottom of the leg to balance me out, but if you are quite small in height pulling them down and having them coming in at the ankle helps elongate the leg- clever trousers!

These animal print slouch leg trouser are from Primark and are great for dressing up or down. I wore these at work, but they can also look great with peplum tops and sky high heels at night.

To be honest on the High Street H&M have an amazing selection of trousers, chino's and silk pj style bottoms this season and at the most budget friendly price, but ASOS also have some proper stand out pairs, so both worth checking out.
I hope you like the look, and would love to know how you are styling trousers.

I have finally been able to go shopping again- (Yeah!) And boy did I make up for lost time, think I blew my monthly clothes shopping budget in one night, but it was worth it. Got lots of great pieces that I can't wait to start blogging about and styling with other pieces. It has really got my creative juices flowing again, I had hit a style stalemate in January, but now I am excited about it again which is great!

Hope you are having a good week so far? At least we are hitting the mid week point tomorrow. New spring nail art video will be up this week too, sure hope you can check back in.

Happy Tuesday!

Stripe it Lucky!

Jumper- M&S, Skirt- Missguided, Bag- Primark
Boots- Topshop, Necklace- Primark, Bangle- Newlook

Hi Guys!

Here are some photo's of today's outfit that I wore to go have Sunday Lunch. I love stripes, they are a permanent fixture of my wardrobe, so the fact that they are a major trend for this season is perfect. This bright orange beauty is actually a year old, I got it for Christmas last year,I don't normally shop in M&S but their knitwear selection is always really good, worth checking out if you are in the look out for a classic jumper or cardy.
It is great to get it back out and start wearing it again. I really recommend having a wardrobe clean out and reshuffle every couple of months, as there is always something you have forgotten about! (well there is in my not so organised cupboards!)

I really like mixing stripes them with this leather pencil skirt to give it a bit of an edge, what do you think?
This skirt is so comfy and I wear it with so many different tops, it is one of those multi purpose pieces that you go back to again and again.

It has been really nice to have a weekend not doing lots of work, my big project was handed in last week, so  the prerogative this weekend has been to do nothing an chill out. I hope you have had a nice weekend? Pay day is just round the corner, which I literally can not wait for, so I can go and hit the shops, it's been too long!
I have filmed a video today for my You Tube Channel , on my new favourite nail art, will be doing a post on it in the next couple of days, so be sure to stay tuned and I would love you to subscribe if you like the video!
Well, I will go and get ready for the Screen Actor's Guild Red Carpet, I love awards season!

Happy Sunday!

Manchester Fashion Week! #MCRFW13

       Hi Guys!

I have some very exciting news for you today! As you know I am part of the Official Blog team for  Manchester Fashion Week 13, meaning I get exclusive and hot of the press news about the event and are able to share it with you!

                                             Manchester Fashion Week
                                                       April 22nd- 26th

Today #MRCFW13 announced that it has appointed a new Head of Fashion and it is none other than the fabulous Kirsty Attwood from the hugely successful Net-a-Porter.com!
Kirsty has a decade of experience working with luxury brands and high profile clientele around the world, and can relate to the designers she works with as she had her own womanswear brand Kirstmairie which has adorned numerous celebrity clients. Coming over to Manchester Fashion Week is a very exciting venture for both parties and with Kirsty's background spanning years within design, sales, management this will take the business forward to new levels and firmly cement Manchester Fashion week in the fashion calendar!
Kirsty and the team can't wait to get started!

"The inspiration behind MCRFW offers such a foundation to this companies structure it has huge potential to have an integral and impact-full contribution to the industry as a whole, over the next year I hope to build those relationships to not only establish the industries professionals based in the north but give a platform to new talent"

I am really excited about this investment in the best fashion event in the North of England, it is soo good to be celebrating the amazing designers and fashions that Manchester has to offer. Don't get me wrong, I love London and Paris, but lets not forget us Northern lassies!

MCRFW 2013 will take place on April 22nd-26th at the National Football Museum.
The iconic Urbis building will be transformed into a must- visit hot spot, hosting 30 fashion shows and 15 exhibition spaces throughout the 5-day event and I will be front rowing it and blogging and vlogging my way through the whole thing!.
Manchester has a proud legacy in football and fashion, with many iconic designers and athletes calling the city their home. The National History Museum celebrates this legacy and truly gives a sense of ownership to the city.
This year will see MCRFW house its usual extravaganza of fashion catwalk and shopping with a few surprises from the MCRFW team, to celebrate the building of the new website and blog plus the launch of MCRFW Hosts.

I really hope you can come along and enjoy all the fun! If you want to stay up to date on all the gossip and news sign up to the Manchester Fashion Week newsletter and watch this space.

Well, I hope you are as excited as me about the big event and I hope to see you there! I am so glad that we are coming to end of the week, it has been stupidly busy and I am ready to chill now and more importantly do some long overdue shopping! I will do a post to let you know what I have been buying and would love to know what you have been splurging on too.

Yours Fashionably!

Monochrome Magic!

Forgot to get an actual accessory photo so here is a close up, check out my camera earrings!
Jacket- Simply Be, Sequin Trousers Daisy Street
Lace Peplum Top- Newlook, clutch Bag- Primark, Shoes- Newlook
Earrings- Vintage (bought in the USA an amazing present!)
 Ring - Primark

Hi Guys!

It feel like it has been such a long time since I did an outfit post for the blog! I have just been busy doing video's for my You Tube Channel and working my way through the new season trends. So it feels really nice to be back doing what I know best and sharing looks with you lovely people.

As you will have seen from my last post, Monocrome is going to be a really big trend this spring/ summer, which I am really excited about. Normally the spring is full of neons and pastels, so it is nice to be wearing such bold contrast colours into the warmer weather. And come on, black and white, it is so timeless and chic, everyone can wear it.

I have been wanting to show you my gorgeous Daisy Street sequin trousers for ages, but things got a bit hectic before Christmas and so I never got the chance, so when I was planning a monochrome look I knew these would be perfect!
They are so comfy and the lining is lovely and soft, so you don't feel the sequin on your legs. What I love most about them is the way they catch the light, it is like your wearing your own private glitterball!
I knew the official party season is over, but when is sequin not a good idea?
Daisy Street is a great website with so many great on trend pieces that are at a really affordable price. If you have not checked out the site here is the here and be sure to take a look at the shoes too, there are some fab shoe boots!
To finish off my black and white look I went for my slouchy white blazer, it is really nice and not too structured which is what I wanted, I really like the effect together. What do you think?

Well, I hope you are having a nice weekend? I am still really busy working on a big work presentation, but it is for Wednesday, so after that I can get back to more blog posts which will be great!
I hope you like my look and I would love to know what new trends you are looking forward to wearing this season!

  Happy Saturday!

SS13 Trend Report!

Hi Guys!

This is one of my favourite posts to write, a look ahead at the new season at what styles, colours and trends came of the catwalk last September.
It is always really good when the new season starts, don't get me wrong I did love the winter vampy, leather and black styles, but it is really nice to start focusing on new pieces and  I always find that it fuels my passion for fashion, as when you have been used to the same styles for a while your inspiration starts to run low.

So, I am super excited about this SS13, as there are lots of gorgeous trends to give our wardrobes a new lease of life and it's not all spring/summer pastels like you might expect. One of the things I am most excited about is the accessibility of this seasons trends, they are all really wearable and will quickly and easily be built into your everyday looks.

(And that is the thing about trends is that you can't be a slave to them, it is just how you adapt them to your own personal style)

So, here is the main highlights of what we will be lusting over this spring!

Stripe it Lucky

Whether they are vertical, horizontal or slanted, stripes are the hottest look for this season. Michel Kors and Marc Jacobs showcased them in gorgeous everyday casual/preppy styles and then Oscar De la Renta showed us how to take stripes to a glam new level! Whether it's day or night stripes will be your best friend!

All White

This is my personal favourite trend, you all know how much I love wearing white dresses, so when I saw white hitting the catwalk my fashion heart did a flutter! Victoria Beckham's white sporty skirts and dresses, were perfect for the summer, think both beach and city chic, and Chanel channelled everything that is timeless and classic about wearing this colour, it might upset the bride but you can wear white this wedding season too!
I love it and can't wait to start (adding) to my white collection.

Swinging 60's

Louis Vuitton was the real trailblazer of this trend, the entire collection was a nod back to short skirts, checks and beehives. What I really love about this style is the little extras that make the look, like the head bands and belts that will instantly update you look.

Eastern Promise

Eastern/ Asian influences have been over the catwalk for the past couple of seasons and see no sign of moving. Prada's stunning prints and Obi belts firmly put them on the map for SS13. We are already seeing this on the high street with kimonos popping up in Topshop and ASOS already.

Monochrome Magic

Don't think this summer is all about pastels, Black and white is defiantly the colours to be seen in this season. The bold and bright contrast is actually really refreshing and will be so easy to build into our existing wardrobes. I loved Jason's Wu's quite formal and structured take on it, maintaining beautiful lines while being  season appropriate, so clever.

And as well as all these fab designs to get your shopping teeth into there is also some other specific styles to look out for!

All of these "micro2 trends can be mixed in with the 5 big ones above, which is the most exciting part of putting looks together, you can pick and choice what you like and don't like and more importantly what suits you. For example if you are a lovely petite lady, then the bermuda shorts may not be for you,as it might stunt your legs, but you will look amazing in a sheer blouse.

Well, I hope you like my report and I hope it comes in handy when you are hitting the shops for your new season pieces. I would love to know what you are most excited about buying and what are your favourite trends!
I am currently in the busiest week ever, I have got a really big work presentation next week and there is soo much to do for it. But I made sure I left time to watch the Golden Globe red carpet! I love the awards season and seeing what amazing frocks everyone wears, there was some stunning dresses on Sunday, I especially loved our own British Michelle Dockery from Downton, who wore a beautiful Alex Vauthier dress.
If you have not seen all the outfits yet then click here

Sorry, this is a really long rambley post! I hope you are all having a good week and a new outfit post will be up asap!

Happy Tuesday!

Favourite Fashion Pieces of 2012!

Hi Fashionista's!

As promised here is my fashion favourites of last year. It has been really hard to actually narrow down the pieces you would classify as favourites as there were so many amazing styles and trends this year that I loved wearing, but ultimately I have had to just go with the items I have physically worn the most.

2012 was definitely a year of 2 halves in the fashion stakes. The Spring/ Summer was a sea of neon's, ice cream tones and brights and I loved it. I think I bought H&M out of coloured chino's and jeans!
The Winter was then full of very Gothic vamps with lots of gorgeous lace, leather, deep reds and Burgundy's.
I loved it all and it is always quite sad to leave behind certain pieces you have worn over and over, but then that is the beauty of fashion, there is always a new style to embrace.

So drum roll please, here is the video of top fashion picks, when I go into more detail on why I have chose these pieces !

I hope you like my choices and to see them a bit closer here is the photo's of each item.

H&M Faux Fur Wrap

2012- Favourite Looks!

Wow, what a year 2012 has been! It has been so nice to go back through my old posts and pick out my favourite looks of the year. It makes the year feel like it has flown by, as I can remember every photo being taken and some kind of drama or comedy incident that went with it! Starting my blog has been so amazing and going back through it all has been quite emotional actually!
It has also made me realise that without noticing I have had some wardrobe stables that I have turned to again and again all year, like my all time fav black heels and top summer wedges that I think were stuck to my feet!
Also I seem to have had a real thing for yellow and neons this summer, which I am sure I was aware at the time, but with all the winter trends that I have been focused on recently it seems like a distant memory!
There are some particular items that have not made it on here like all my peplum tops, which has been welded to my back all year, but if I had included everything this would have been a very long post!
I have also loved all your comments on all my outfits over the past year, it means so much to me and I love hearing what looks you have been wearing yourself!

I think reflecting back on the styles and trends you have loved the year before is the perfect prep for getting excited about the new fashion season. As there will always be things you will leave behind (mistakes, we have all made them!)and there will be classic styles that you can take with you. That is the beauty of fashion!

I am really happy about this seasons new trends, there are lots of gorgeous pieces out there that I need to get my hands on!  I will be posting my top new SS13 trend post very soon and I will be recording a lot more videos this year for my you tube channel which I am super excited about so be sure to stay tuned!

Well, I better get back to sorting out all my Christmas presents and cleaning my room, as it is basically a bomb site at the moment!
Hope you all have a fab weekend and if you are detoxing it is going well!

Happy Saturday!
