AW12 Trend Report- High Street Edit

The new season trend report is one of my favourite posts to write, even though we are just finally being able to wear our summer wardrobe it is really exciting to start looking at what we will be lusting after in the winter months!
I must confess to being a sun girl, I love the warmth and the laid back easy fashion of the summer months. However, when I saw the Fashion Weeks back in February I knew we were in for a very stylish back end to the year.
This AW12 trends are very bold and opulent with real glamour and style. This winter we are going to be able to celebrate the our figures in beautiful shapes and structured pieces with permission to embrace black once more!
I have gone through the high streets new seasons collections to pick out some of my favourite pieces that help bring some of the main designer looks to us for this winter, without the designer price tag!

I don't know about you, but I am very glad it is the weekend! Me and my Boyfriend are flying out to Rhodes in a matter of hours, so while I am writing this I am trying to finish packing and watch the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony ( which is amazing) so it is all go here!
My wedding outfit is all ready, so I try and post on twitter and Instagram when I am away, so stay tuned for that!
Hope you all have fab weekends and I will be back next Thursday with my friends wedding report!

Forever 21 Launch in Manchester!

The 21st July was a very special day for us Northern Fashionista's, as it was the opening day of Forever 21 in the Trafford Center in Manchester! This was really exciting as there are only 3 other stores in the UK and they are in London and Birmingham and so logistically it is not handy if I want to go and get my fix. I think it is really good for Manchester too, as it helps mark its territory as an fashion forward city and will pull in shoppers from all over the north.
So off I went with Katie ( my partner in style) to check out the store and see the new ranges and styles that in for the new season. Here are my pics of the day!

Entrance- Next to NewLook and WH Smiths

                                                               New Season Collections
                                                                    The Accessories!
                                                          Spacious Changing Rooms

I will confess, I have always been a big fan of Forever 21, there range of styles and sizing has always been really good and I love the prices, however on my last visit to the Oxford Street store I was a bit disappointed with the clothes and nothing really shouted out to me.
Therefore I went to this new store with interest, and it was amazing, we spent over 2 hours in there just going through the rails in some sort of fashion induced coma, I have not idea where the time went!
The store itself is a nice size, not too big, it is only 1 floor unlike the other UK stores, but there is plenty of clothes and accessories to fest your eyes on. The layout is great, sectioned of by trends and styles, and the jewelry, bags and shoes is like a boudoir of wish list items.
What I was really pleased to see was the new seasons collection, lots of great dogtooth and patterned skirts, leather jackets and peplum dress and tops. I will do a separate post on my tops fashion picks from the range but the designs overall were bang on trend, and at such a great price, which you know I love.

We did go a bit nuts, getting 3 dresses, a top, skirt 3 necklaces and 4 pairs of earrings, but you know when you are in that shopping high and every time to turn a corner there is another piece you want to pick up, that was us! (So keep posted for these appearing in up and coming outfit posts!)

If you are in the Manchester area then you need to come down and check out the store, if you have never been in Forever 21 before it sits in between say Newlook and Miss Selfridges, it is very trend aware but not to the point that it doesn't cater for all.

It was far to say we left very happy fashion bunnies and are already planning monthly visits to stock up on the essentials! Although a little Logan tip, try and set a budget of how much you can spend before you go, as a bit like Primark you think you are not spending lots and then get to the till and it is massive bill, so be a little careful!

If you want to check out more of the range here is the link to the site

Well, I hope you are having a good week?Is it just me or does it seem to be flying by? I am trying to get organised for the weekend, as I am flying out to Rhodes to go to my friends Nick and Catherine's wedding! So excited, can't believe it has come round so fast, so I am outfit planning and picking out my nail polishes and accessories tonight so I am all ready for Friday!
I will try and post pictures on my twitter and Instagram when I am away, but I will be doing a full wedding fashion report when I get back.
Happy Mid Week!

Sales- Survival Guide!

Ok Guys, I have a shocking fashion confession to make..... I hate shopping in Sales! ( I know audible gasps, seen as this blog is all about great fashion at a great price!) But, I have never liked them, to me it is just shopping carnage, there is no right or reason to any of it or order and it completely stresses me out. In the past when I see a lot of sale rails up in a shop I walk back out, as I know it will be to crazy for me! It is silly I know, as retailers have to get rid of stock, I work in fashion marketing, so you think I would understand, but it is not really my favourite thing.
However, over the years I have grown tired of my friends turning up on nights out and to events in outfits bought in the sales, so I have had to work harder and try and find a happy medium so I can reap the rewards of the great savings.

This are my tips on how to survive the sales and what are the best items to be looking for!

1.) Think of the up and coming season
It may sound silly, but never venture into a sale without an idea of what the key trends and colours are going to be for the next season, ( I always go armed with a trend report from one of my fav magazines!) that way you will not just pick up things that will never be worn and will only sit in your wardrobe collecting dust! Try and pick out pieces that will be transitional from one season to the next.
Logan Runway Tip- Look for Peplums! They are going to still be huge into AW12, so if you see one in the sale grab it now!

2) Accessories are safe bets
As much as trends come and go, most jewelry and neck scarfs will last a long time and so look for pieces in the sales that you will always reach for! pearls, cuffs, statement rings, will go with some many looks and in time can become wardrobe staples, but real bargains too.

3) Go for the Classics
The safest thing to buy in any sale is timeless pieces that are not trend related. I know we all love the key looks for each season, but none of us can be slaves to fashion, it is all about how you style your own looks. And that is where I have learned to love a good sale as I can stock up on my items that will always be on trend, so look out for the following...
- The Classic White Shirt
- A plain colour nude/black pair of ballet pumps
- A Demin Shirt
- Leather Jacket
- Blue rinse/stone wash Jeans
-Pencil Skirt
- Cashmere/ Knitwear
- Tailored Blazer

4) Think about what you already own
Both me and Katie have a shopping rule, before you buy anything you should always consider what you have at home that you can team it with that way you don't just go around picking up things that you will get home and never wear! Never utter the words, well it is just so cheap- cheap or not if it can't be worn with anything it is a waste!

Well, I hope you find these useful, I would love to know what your tips are surviving the sales and what great bargains you have been picking up?
I am soo glad it is the weekend, I am heading to Chester and also going to check out the new Forever 21 store that is opening at the Trafford Center in Manchester this weekend! Very excited and will do a full blog post on the shop early next week, so stay tuned.

Have wonderful weekends, hope you have lovely things planned

Happy Weekend, Happy (sale) Shopping!

Peplum with an Edge!

Top- Topshop, Jeans- H&M
Necklace- Newlook, Shoes- Newlook
Bracelet- Topshop, Bag- Dorothy Perkins

This is just a very quick post of my outfit from Friday night. ( Firstly apologies for the dark lighting) I was out for a meal with my Parents, Sister and our boyfriends, and was very excited to wear my new spiked necklace for the first time. I know these necklaces have been doing the rounds for a while now and they have up to now been quite quite expensive, for costume jewelry, but when I saw this one in Newlook for £6.99 I had it paid for and out the shop in 2 mins!
I love it and I paired it with my fav black peplum top that has been the stable of my wardrobe this summer. It is such a good shape to wear and goes with so many different styles, and you will be glad to know that it is staying for next season too, so don't be having a post season throw out too soon!
Well, I am heading up to Scotland this morning to see my Grandparents for a few days, I love getting up to see them as much as I can and it is such beautiful part of the world, even in the rain!!

Hope you are all having lovely weekends, and let my know if you are loving your peplums too?

Happy Sunday!

                  Shoes- Miss Selfridge £48

Well, we are still in the middle of wedding season and although the weather in the UK has been awful this summer, we have still all been getting our lovely dresses ans fascinators on and celebrating.
As you know I published a post back in March on my style choices for a Wedding here in the UK, but since then I have been asked to so a post on outfit ideas for a wedding abroad, so these are my picks!
I am actually going to my Friends Nick and Catherine wedding in Lindos, Greece at the end of the month, I am so excited! So this post is made up of my research on finding the perfect outfit for the big day.

The first advise I would say when looking for a dress for a wedding in the sun is not to go to all the usual stops like Coast and Monsoon, as lovely as the dresses will be they will be far to heavy and formal for a wedding abroad. The best thing about a wedding overseas is that you can wear something that you would not wear to a wedding back home.
I have picked out 4 different styles, for different types of wedding, a print look for a beachy feel, a maxi dress for a more relaxed day a classic look for a city wedding and a cute little pastel dress for a light easy feel. I have loved putting my look together and will post a full report of my outfit after the big event, so stay tuned for that!
I hope you like my looks and I would love to hear what you are wearing for your weddings this summer!

And I hope you all have nice weekends planned? I am going home to see my Parents and then heading up to Scotland to see my Grandparents and Uncle and going for a day at the races, so busy packing for that while writing this, so I better get back to it!

Happy Weekend!

Floral Trousers- On a unexpected sunny day!

Trousers- Primark, Vest- Newlook, Bag- Vintage
Necklace- Thunder Egg (Manchester Independent shop)
 Sandals- Primark

Yesterday was such an unexpected nice day! I had resound myself to a weekend of rain, so I was very excited to look out the window and see the Sun. I am very much a summer person, and I get really down when the weather is rubbish, so any hint of sun and I am out in it!
I decided to wear my floral trousers, I love the print with the purples and yellow's they have been great all season, but on this occasion I opted for my loudest and brightest yellow silk vest. It is great as it is loose, so perfect in the warm weather (apart from creasing after 2 mins of being ironed)
I really like the combination, what do you think?

I am writing this post while watching the Wimbledon final, it is all very tense here! Hope you have had nice weekends? My mission to find a dress for my friends wedding in Greece is still on, I will have to post my top finds in the next couple of days!
Anyway, back to my Pimms!

Happy Sunday!

There are no words for how much I love this outfit!!

                                                           Clemence Poesy

                                                                   Alexa Chung

                       Diane and Josh
I need that beret in my life!

Hi Guys! Well as you will know this week has been Couture Week in Paris and we have been treated to some amazing collections! Above are my personal favourite pieces from the week, but to be honest it was hard to just narrow it down to these. I love Couture week, as it allows the designers to really showcase themselves in the best way and push the boundaries, which brings us fab fashion!

The big talk of the week was the first collection for Raf Simons since his move to Dior earlier this year from Jill Sanders. It was a bold collection that was a clear "marking of his territory" with a new take on the Dior of old but still nods back to their classic designs. It is an exciting time for the label and I can't wait to see what he produced for the SS13 fashion weeks.

I also love seeing what the stars are going to turn up in, my huge style crush is Olivia Palermo I always adore how she puts looks together and her outfit for the Dior show was flawless!

I hope you are all looking forward to the weekend and have nice things planned? I am dedicating my time to finding a dress to wear to a wedding I am going to in Greece at the end of the month. I just do not know what style to go for at all, so if any of you have been to a wedding aboard before I would love to have some ideas!
Well, I am off to buy a beret!

Happy Weekend

Breton Stripes and Pastels!

Top- Vintage, Vest- New Look, Jeans- H&M
Bag- Primark, Necklace- Topshop, Ring Miss Selfridge

Hi Guys! This is my look from the weekend, it is my oldest stripey top that I  found in a vintage shop a few years ago that I absolutely love! You know when you wake up and just know there is one particular item you want to wear, well that was how I felt about this top.
The weather has been so rubbish I just want to throw on comfy clothes that I don't have to think about. And Breton stripes are just so classic what ever you wear with them, but I choose to mix it up with my green jeans, that without doubt have been my most worn items all season. I really like the pastel colours with the stripes, what do you think?
But, my favourite part of the look is the gold necklace, nothing finishes of an outfit like a big tribal cuff!

I hope you are having a good week? I am snowed under with work project at the mo, which is why I have been posting as much recently, I can't wait for it all to be over and I can get back dedicating my free time to the blog.It is easy to get disillusioned with things when you are really busy, don't you think? So, I am tyring to stay positive and just focus on what is coming and I have got lots of exciting features to write up and post so stay tuned over the next month.

Happy Tuesday!
